AIM HIGH KABATAAN WENT STRATEGIC PLANNING

To continue the started programs and advocacy for the youth, AIM High Kabataan (AHK) decided to conduct Strategic Planning for Young Leaders held at A-Montana Resort, Alabel, Sarangani Province last June 11-12, 2011. The said planning was attended and participated by AHK Presidents all over the 26 barangay in General Santos City and some selected Core Group. This 2-day strategic planning for AHK Young Leaders aims to formulate plans and strategies for the next 6 months this year.

During the AHK Strategic Planning, the participants went to a hectic schedule, minds were scrutinized, details were consolidated and possibilities were point out. It helps the organization to take full advantage of the opportunities and minimize the threats (if there are any) they might encounter along the process of implementation. Meanwhile, participants were able to form the mission and vision of AIM High Kabataan out of their understanding in line with AHK's principle and advocacy.

What is Strategic Plan? What is it all about? Strategic Planning is a ladder -like process with definite objectives that can be implemented and outputs that can be evaluated. So simple to grasp, it is like a roamap by which we look to the future, having a big picture in our mind, then breaking it into actionable steps while considering the things that can influence and affect us. Your plan depends on your own choice of time frame. It can be a monthly plan, an annual plan or a 2-5 years plan, etc.

Why is it necessary for an organization to set a Strategic plan whether Political, Non-political, Student, Professional  or Business organizations, etc. Does it make the organization alive and existing? The answer is actually "YES". Your organization will not last long if you do not set and talk your plans. If you have not made any plans for your organization this simply means that you put blindfolds to your own two eyes so you could barely see the directions as to where you want to go. Hence, goals are so vague. Therefore, members and officials got confused. Imagine your organization hardly breathing just like a fish taken away from the water.

It takes a collective effort, time and cooperation to make the planning a successful one. From the simple to difficult details, everyone contributed a helping idea to make the plans concrete. The AHK's Strategic Plan was indeed a success.
